Henry Turned Two!
well, Henry went and turned two.
He had a very fun party at the bowling alley with family and some friends. He even bowled!
There just arent enough words to describe how much I love Henry. He is so wonderful and sweet and fun to have around. He loves to laugh and to make us laugh.
He goes gaga over Zibby and Buzz, who he calls Sistoo and Bahpah.
He loves shoes. He loves balls and trucks and cars and dinosaurs. He loves to point out airplanes in the sky. He loves to stomp in puddles and whack bushes with sticks. He loves babies and puppies and ice cream. He likes to watch Max and Ruby on tv. He loves to nurse. He likes to pretend to sleep, including pretend snoring. He likes to do really loud fake sneezes. He likes to drink anything Im drinking- coffee,soda, water, doesnt matter. He loves bbq chips and cool ranch doritos and sausage and hamburger and fries and rice.
He can sign : Nurse, more, help, hot, cold, baby, shoe, clothes, all done, airplane, eat, water, potty
Says: Where’s Sister? Where’d Sister go? Sister mean. Where’s Papa? Where’s Henry? Peeka boo! All gone. Papa Home!

Skills: can get off bed by sliding feet first, on his bottom. Climbs stairs, can go down stairs with railing, uses fork to eat, pours water into cups, turns on dishwasher (constantly!), puts on own shoes, touches toes, does kung fu moves and spins, yoga positions! can push chair to counter and climb up, can turn tv on,
can touch: eyes, ears, hair, tongue, lips, toes, nose, bellybutton
Uses potty for #2 always. Wears a diaper when we go out and overnight, underwear or commando at home during the day. Sometimes will pee in potty if I suggest it, sometimes he tells me beforehand, more often afterwards, or not at all.
Nurses often during the day and to go to sleep at night, a couple times during the night. Sleeps with me and John, and is a wiggly rolly polly sleeper, sometimes horizontal, sometimes upside down…
Gives kisses and hugs often, and tickles. Absolutely loves Zibby and other kids, always wants to be in on the action. Likes to be carried in my sling or pushed in the jog stroller.
He takes one nap midday, usually falls asleep around 10, wakes up at 7-8. Will sleep in stroller or sling if we are out.
He is 33 inches tall and about 26 lbs. He wears a size 6.5 shoe and is in 2T clothes (mostly)
He is scrumptious.

So, Sweet Baby Henry is almost 17 months old.
He walks, he runs, he tries to jump. He nearly can do a somersault on the bed. He hugs and kisses and cuddles and pulls on my leg to get me to go somewhere.
He makes signs for Na-na, All Done, More, Potty,He does an adorable chicken impersonation with the arms flapping and he says Bock Bock
He also does a Tarzan with chest thumping and tarzan call.
Today he did the train choo choo noise when the Thomas show came on.He also says AHHH Chooo! and some approximation of peek-a-boo and thank you.
He can say Mama, Papa, Wawa (water) Sister, Kitty, Na-na (nursing)
He still mostly eats crunchy stuff like Trader Joe cheerios, corn flakes, chips, pretzels, but hes also branched out into trying apple, meatball, and mashed potato. He likes french fries and popcorn also. He has started to drink some water from a sippy cup or sippy bottle. He has so far rejected most every other food or drink we’ve offered. Sometimes he eats corn kernals (cooked). We arent worried. He is plenty big and hitting milestones, sweet and healthy and getting all his teeth. And he nurses well.
He has all 16 of his early baby teeth in or breaking thru. The last few weeks have been tough, but luckily homeopathics work well for him at night.
He loves other children and is always in the middle of a crowd of kids. He wants to do anything Zibby does. All of my friends dote on him. He likes shoes, swords or sticks, noisy things, looking at books, petting kitty, cuddling, watching tv (HE LOVES TV!) playing music and dancing. He can occupy himself with pretty much anything and is very curious about everything. He can now open the doors to closets and such in our house. Uh oh. Gotta move everything up a few feet! He loves to run free and play outside. He likes to splash in the bath and he loves balls and playing catch.
Im trying to think of anything he really doesnt like and I cant come up with anything. Hes pretty chill. He even does the car and carseat ok. Hes a lot of laughs and we are all happy hes around.He is really a wonderful little guy!

our week in florida was really great. the weather was warm, and sunny. the company was delightful and the kids all got along pretty well. we went to the beach, the parks and the pool. my dad took me and my kids out twice for delicious dinners, and all in all, we had a fabulous time.
now we are home for a few days until we all leave to go on family vacation in Ohio at the Kalahari Waterpark. Woo Hoo!!!
Henry is saying a few words and signing more. He walks great and runs a little. He tries to jump. He still doesnt eat anything except nibbles of dry cereal or chips. and boob juice, of course.
oh funny story! at the park on the beach in sunny isles, a woman saw me nursing Henry. I saw that she noticed and hoped she wouldnt give me any dirty looks or anything. In fact, she came over and said that Henry was a beautiful strong boy and he was lucky to be nursing. She said her granddaughter (whom she was at the park with) didnt get to nurse and that I was a great mom to give my baby “the Milk!”. She had a strong accent, Russian, Im guessing from the neighborhood, and she kept shaking her own boob at me and saying “The MILK!” in an enthusiastic way. Then she went over and told her friends that Henry was still Getting The Milk (more boob shaking) and they all looked at me and smiled.
Im totally exhasuted from traveling (really more from staying up late and chit chatting with my friends!) There were 4 moms and 8 kids for a few days, and then 3 moms and 6 kids for the rest. But Im happy to be home and see Buzz and chill out. Really chill out. Its freaking cold here!
