june is here

wow. looks like I can barely muster a post a month. to be honest, folks, I havent felt much like writing. Im really slogging thru the grieving process of my mother’s death, while trying to keep everything else together. Its been rough. Im not used to this level of depression and gloom, but Im doing everything I can to stay present and be kind to my kids.

well, summer break is almost here! what this means is that Im off work for the summer. Since my babysitt-ee’s mom is a teacher and she gets the summer off, so do I! We celebrate by promptly leaving on vacation next week! I will report once we get back.

So, guess what. If Zibby had gone to “real school” she’d have just finished her kindergarten year. Zibby remains very interested in fashion (as she sees it) putting together outfits, accessorizing, and now is into makeup and nail polish. She has a “beauty box” full of cosmetics and she does all the other girls makeup at the park days. She often goes into “character” as Claire (a pretend cousin), Fibby (pretend twin) or even Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus. She was “Claire” for an entire weekend and even called us “zibby’s mom or dad” when she addressed us. She can navigate the Roku on the tv and can find all the kids shows on tivo. I think she recognizes the first initial of the shows and knows generally what the title looks like-or maybe she is straight up reading them!

She likes to play some computer games, and she likes to watch her favorite shows on tv. She likes icarly, hannah montana, wizards of waverly place the best. She likes vampires, mermaids, wizards, witches and rock stars. Zibby loves to laugh and she loves to make us laugh.

Henry is 2.5 and likes to play with cars and balls and things that thwap (bats, brooms, swords). He likes to pretend to be a kitty or a puppy. He likes to sing and do yoga and gymnastics. He knows and recognizes all the letters of the alphabet. His favorite shows are Super Why, Max and Ruby and Wow Wow wubbzy. He likes cuddling and nursing. He still takes one nap in the afternoon, and will sleep just about anywhere. He likes to play with other kids and he likes to swing. He loves being with our little family. And we love him!
