Merry Christmas

December 26th, 2007

Christmas was good. Henry actually woke us all up this morning. Man, he loves Christmas. Seriously, he could not stop making noise all day long (when he was awake) He squawks, squeals, gurgles, coos, giggles, blibbles, hums and a number of other things. Its hilarious. He is one happy little bub. He got some good loot, too. Mostly clothes and baby stuff. But, he is a baby, so i guess that makes sense.

So, he woke up around 6 and I took him potty, and couldnt get him back to sleep again. He woke up his sister, and then it was pretty much all over once she had to get up to go to the bathroom, but she still wasnt making the connection about the reason to get up was gifts. At any rate, she caught on pretty quick. Every thing she opened, she would hug it and exclaim,”Its just what I always wanted!” bless her little 3 year old baby heart. She got lots of dress ups, and movies and lollipops and socks and a camera of her very own and a mini trampoline. (the trampoline i got from Craigslist, and it turned out to be from someone I knew! small world)

I took a big fat Christmas nap and then got up and made dinner. We had roast chicken, corn and broccoli. I made sweet potatoes for me and orzo risotto for Buzz and Zibby. Zibby ate a lot of food and conked out around 8:30. Buzz and I stayed up and watched Superbad. Then he went to bed and I had my guilty pleasure watching Big Love.

Last night we went to Buzz’ folks in the burbs with all his siblings and their kids. Its a complete zoo. 11 kids from age 15 down to Henry at 3 months. 13 adults. 5 lbs of pasta and a HUGE pot of meatballs and sauce (I brought my own dairy free sauce) no matter how many times the tv got turned off, it got turned back on. It gets so noisy that I cant even think. But we made it out alive and the kids slept the whole way home so that was nice.

This week Buzz is going to finish the pictures to send out, so yall will get New Years Cards. Better than last year, which didnt get sent until February.

Now its really late and I ought to go to bed, too. Good night, and Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Everything (Ha!)
